The California Department of Justice has announced that they will reopen the registration flow of "bullet button assault weapons" from January xiii, 2022 until Apr 12, 2022, due to a federal courtroom order. This time period is reserved for gun owners who had wished to comply with the original registration period that ended in 2018, only were unable to do so due to technical difficulties.

- The person verifies nether penalisation of perjury that they attempted to register the set on weapon prior to the original registration deadline of midnight on July 1, 2018, but they were unable to do so because of technical difficulties during the registration process; and
- The person timely registers the assault weapon between 9 a.m. on January 13, 2022, and 9 a.m. on April 12, 2022."
